Lefthanders' Day, August 13
I almost forgot that this is Lefthanders' Day! I put a little montage I made of some pretty actresses in a lefthanded OTK position in the "media other than comics" section, and if I had thought of it in time, I might've done an O.T. Katie strip featuring a lefthanded spanker. But, even though I don't have an O.T. Katie strip ready to post today... if you look at the last one I posted, you'll see that the "Cleanup Man" is a lefty! And, by the way, so is Bullmoose.
Re: Lefthanders' Day, August 13
This is an interesting subject. When I was drawing cartoons for publication in the magazine "Spank Hard," the publisher insisted that I always draw the spankers as being right-handed. That's probably why most of my cartoons still feature righty spankers.
Earlier this year, in an episode of the CBS series "N.C.I.S.", the Medical Examiner known as "Ducky" (because his name is Mallard) was examining a corpse and determined the dead person was left-handed. He then said: "Only nine percent of people are left-handed." I thought that was interesting, because I had never seen a stat on that.
Google's Wikipedia states that: "A variety of studies suggest that 10% of the world population is left-handed."
The last four (4) presidents of the United States -- George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and Barack Obama -- are left-handed, and in fact overall, there have been far more left handed presidents than the normal percentage in the population.
It has never bothered me to see a left-handed spanker in action, although I am a right-hander myself. Two of the premier movie spankings, in fact, are delivered by lefties: Rod Cameron in Frontier Gal (1945) and Patrick Bergin in Love Crimes (1992). Also, the best TV spanking ever, between Demián Bichir and Mary-Louise Parker in Showtime's "Weeds" (2008), is delivered by a lefty.
Cheers,
Dan

Speaking of lefty presidents, I read something interesting about James Garfield some time back. He was predominantly lefthanded, but he could write with his right hand also, and he used to show off by writing a sentence in Latin and another sentence in Greek at the same time!daneldorado wrote:The last four (4) presidents of the United States -- George H.W. In the 1992 election, I made a prediction that the lefthanded candidate was going to win. (Of course I turned out to be right, because the two major party candidates, George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton were both lefties, and even the outside chance third-party candidate, Ross Perot, was a lefty!)

Re: President Garfield and Carl Burgos
Interesting history. Carl Burgos, creator of The Human Torch, was reported to have the same gift as President Garfield - he could write with both hands at the same time! Garfield is also credited with an original proof (there are over 100) of the Pythagorean Theorem. You have to wonder what kind of president he would have been if he hadn't been assassinated after only three months in office.

It's Lefthanders' Day again, and I decided to post a few classic cartoons re-captioned for the occasion.

enjoyed these! and since I am left handed (I can do a lot of things almost equally well with my right hand but can't write with it) enjoyed the facts. I did know about the presidents. did not realize the small percentage that was left handed. again CSR continues to educate. of course me being left handed is a moot point as I do not spank anybody. I would be on the receiving end!

A lot of lefties use their right hand more than righties use their left. Part of that might be that so many tools are designed for righthanded use.sunflower309 wrote:enjoyed these! and since I am left handed (I can do a lot of things almost equally well with my right hand but can't write with it) enjoyed the facts.
In my O.T. Katie cartoons, I feature some lefthanded spankers now and then. I've never shown Katie drawing or writing, but I think she's probably ambidesxterous.
...And I guess the same applies to hersunflower309 wrote:of course me being left handed is a moot point as I do not spank anybody. I would be on the receiving end!

I do enjoy your O.T. Katie's. I can't wait until I have enough time to see more.
