Jessie puts on a brave act, but it's clear she's beginning to feel some real heat in the seat.
Westerns have provided us with many if not most of the best movie spankings, most obviously with McLintock!, but there have been many others. One we hadn't seen before is The Stagecoach Kid (1949). As best we can make out the plot, a rancher's daughter (Jeff Donnell) hates the life and runs off on foot to go back to San Francisco, a foolish thing to attempt, so the owner of a stagecoach line (Tim Holt) sets out to bring her back. Naturally this requires administering a good spanking!
The spanking is pretty good, with nice OTK positioning (leglock variant, which is needed for the rebellious girl), and at one point Holt almost uses a handy piece of wood like a paddle but decides against it for some reason. (Maybe he found the presence of a piece of wood in the middle of the badlands rather suspicious, just as we do). The dust really goes flying, reminding us of Elizabeth Allen's spanking in Donovan's Reef, so perhaps Donnell's pained expression isn't all acting. (Her acting is good, by the way, giving us the impression that her character is trying to pretend the spanking doesn't hurt when in reality her fanny is on fire.) Donnell, who was also in the movie The Iron Maiden but let Ann Helm take the spanking there, took on the name "Jeff" because she loved the Mutt and Jeff comic strip so much. She also played Aunt May in one episode of the 1977 TV series The Amazing Spider-Man, pretty much forgotten today but it was the wall-crawler's first foray into the dramatic media, long before the big-budget movies.
And speaking of comics, our spanker is Tim Holt, whose appearance in innumerable westerns led to having his own western comic book, although we couldn't find any spankings in it and we think we've gone though all of its issues. (There was one Missed Opportunity you can see here.) Nor do we know of any other spankings in his many other films, although JimC remarks, "almost every movie I saw him in had some spanking scene in it or threat of one".
As to this one, we don't know where we turned it up although it may have been on spankyourdate.com judging by the video's original watermark (not the "EasyHtml5Video" that we added when coding the player's elements), a site we don't even remember and that seems to have been defunct for years. It was mentioned by CSR Resident Artist Dan Rivera over on the Forum (Publicity Photos...Real and Fake) which is worth re-reading.
