That's odd! I wrote a comment on last week's update, and then I looked today and it was gone!

I can't explain why it should have disappeared, B00m - is this it by any chance?

Novelty Paddles - us old-timers all remember seeing these sold in souvenir shops, and I've gathered a whole bunch of pictures of them.

I'm looking forward to that one! I remember seeing one that had a poem about reasons for using it, and one line was, "For nice young brides who burn the toast."

"Ah yes - I remember it well!"

You're memory is accurate, b00m - there was indeed a paddle (indeed several very similar paddles) that had a poem on them listing reasons for using it, and "Nice young brides who burn the toast" was one that obviously had a big effect on us as boys. Just the thought of applying it to that young bride's bare ass (the instructions said "Apply briskly until object is blushing pink " and I was a good boy who always followed instructions ) was, well, extremely stimulating to our young minds .

We return to Phil S.'s finds this week with Captain Easy #7. This is certainly turning out to be one of the more spanking-friendly strips! It's a good one, too, with a spankee who to me resembles Blondie - a comics character who was never spanked (as far as anyone knows, although there were some spankings in her strip) but really should have been. Chic Young was more interested in humor than erotic spanking.

I do have one spanking of Blondie by Dagwood, but it's independent art and not from the strip. It's nice, though, and we'll be seeing it on March 15.

I'll keep the rest short this week: I've got the comics updates planned out to May, and while I'm very sorry not to be able to present much else during that time, the construction work on the four replacement galleries plus probably that Novelty Paddle special feature, as well as really pushing hard to clear up the mailbox and catching up on the forum here, simply isn't going to leave me much time. If I can, I'll present some of Doctor Cylon's works (which he's still sending me, by the way), now numbering approximately 1200 items (including duplicates and unusable).

Finally, this board is out of date, but there's nothing I can do at the moment because our web host hasn't yet adopted the latest version of php (which is, along with MySQL, what makes the board work). I'm not anticipating any problems, but if anyone frequents another phpBB board and it seems snazzier than ours here, that's probably the reason. (Also, I don't like making changes in the supplied php code or templates because it's too much work ).

Next week: it's back to Polly and Her Pals!

The Comic Strip Series continues with another Sweetspot discovery: Boots and Her Buddies Spanking #2 This is a nice scene with the lovely Boots herself getting spanked, and I'm sure everyone will like it even though it's F/F.

O.K., I haven't been saying much so far in January, basically because I didn't want to carry on as though nothing was going on with Phil O. and Phil S. but also because I'm of course terribly overworked. I haven't completely caught up on the mail, but I've been working on it, and the new galleries are basically finished - look for an announcement next week. I should also say something about plans for the year, although all I know for certain is that the Comic Strip Series will take us into Super Spanking Summer.

I've been preparing the raw material for the Tribute to Bending Over special, and realized I should include something from Benny Hill. I taped a number of episodes back in the early 90s and transferred them to DVD in 2005. The problem is of course that they need to be searched, edited, and re-formatted. Luckily I have a video editor that allows non-protected DVD's (like mine because I made them myself!) to be imported. (The files as formatted on a DVD are not suitable for editing and re-presentation in other video formats, like MP4. (If you examine a DVD on your computer, you'll find video files in the VOB format, but you'll also find you can't do anything with them as they stand). In only three days I believe I have found all the scenes I remember, so they should be edited together by next week. I believe most of the other material has already been set aside. I'll probably do Novelty Paddles first, though, as they should be easier.

Also, while searching this large plastic box containing all sorts of spanking materials, from old DVDs to older spanking mags to old Archie comics that Robin gave me years ago, I found a DVD with a bunch of magazine spankings on it . It's pretty tame stuff from the 40s and 50s, but what bothers me is I have no memory of creating it even though there's no question that I did! Maybe someone sent these to me in another format, but Mike didn't have that much from the 40s and I don't remember scanning this stuff. And note that this is in addition to all the other magazine material I already had in the files! Well, we'll get to it all eventually. I really should go through the box again to see if Mike has any more of his fiction in there...

You're right. Even though F/F spankings aren't my thing, the story was funny.

Ages ago, I did an O.T. Katie that was sort of similar. It started with Katie trudging through the snow on a cold day, complaining about freezing her butt off. A little boy threw a snowball at her and she threw one back at him. However... she missed the little boy and hit Yank the cop on the back of his head. I don't think I need to explain what happened next... Let's just say... at the end of the story, Katie's butt was no longer freezing!

Unfortunately, I no longer have that strip in any of my files... but maybe sometime, I'll do a re-make of it.

I'll probably do Novelty Paddles first, though, as they should be easier.

I think that'll be fun!

At the risk of this becoming a running joke, I continue to be way "behind" in my work on CSR. Nothing I can do about it - my entire life basically consists of putting out fires because I can't get to things when I'd like to - but I'm doing the best I can. One example of the difficulties: I've got something like 150 emails in my Web-Ed inbox, and it might take me half an hour or even more to deal with one of them. Since I don't have 75 hours a week to read mail, I get to only a fraction of it before I have to go on to something else. All I can do is keep plugging away and try to catch up.

And that explains why I haven't even been able to keep up on this board. It was not until yesterday I was able to see what Resident Artist Hugob00m had been up to lately, and it turns out it's a lot ! I think everyone likes O. T. Katie, so be sure to check out her latest adventure "Futuregirl" as well as a couple of others B00m managed to knock out recently if you haven't already done so. These Katie adventures should help make up for the fact I've been able to manage only one update per week on the main site (my goal is two for the present).

As to what else I've been missing on the board, I really have no idea - I'll get to it when I can.

So what have I accomplished recently? Apart from the Comic Strip Series and generally keeping the lights on around here I have managed to complete the construction of four new galleries, and ahead of schedule ! They are the Art Gallery, Photo Gallery, Sweetspot's Newspaper Gallery, and the Stage Screen and Television Gallery. Links are on the Home Page, and they replace the Picture Gallery, which remains available for the moment but will be removed when I can get around to it.

The purpose, as I mentioned a while back, is to keep this site well-organized. I want people to have some idea where to look for particular kinds of spankings, that is, based on the medium of the original source. The old Picture Gallery was a terrible hodge-podge of items from various sources, including some things that shouldn't even have been there! There was no reason for spanking art to be lumped in with photos, for instance. Two example corrections: I moved the first Luann spanking and B00m's early O.T. Katie strips into Comics Gallery 1. After all, that is what they represent: comic strips, or material derived therefrom.

Something like 174 items had to be moved, which means that many pages renovated plus 4 new ones for the new gallery index pages created. It's the kind of work I hate because at the end of it, there's nothing new for CSR readers to look at, with one exception I'll get to in a moment. It will help new readers, of course, and I hope a new generation of young spankos will join our little community here, and even current readers as new material is added. That's one reason it had to be done now: any further additions to the Picture Gallery would just create even more work for me later.

Now under this much time pressure one thing that is obviously going to be neglected is worrying about F/M stuff, which few CSR readers seem interested in. My own views have been expressed elsewhere, and in fact one of my remodeling goals was to completely segregate F/M material in each gallery so people who wanted it could find it but everyone else could easily avoid it. While I haven't gotten to this in the other "old" galleries, I did of course address it with the new ones. The only one affected is the new Art Gallery (which shows how little F/M was in the Picture Gallery to begin with). Since Franco was kind enough to send me some more of his art a year or two ago, I took the opportunity to add it to his new sub-gallery there. F/M fans should seek it out.

I've gone on too long as usual, so I'll end this now and create a separate post for this week's updates.

Yeah. I agree with most of the CSR fans that I'm not too interested in F/M stuff. One possible exception would be stories in the "worm turns" category, with a man who has been dominated by a woman for longer than he should've been and finally decides to take charge.

Yeah, I agree with you on that. I never saw "The Story of O" or read the book it was based on, but I've read that there was a lot of bondage and whipping. Knute and Luann seem to be more into the OTK kind of thing! Cute and funny, but at the same time a little sexy too!

The Comic Strip Series continues with two more spankings involving Lena Pry: Lena #5 and
Lena #6 .

Last week I explained I had forgotten about the other Luann spankings, to which we'll return next week, when I scheduled the last two known spankings involving Lena Pry (in fact #6 is technically from the Jane Arden strip after the character of Lena had returned to it). I'd also forgotten how recently we'd seen the Lena spankings on the Bulletin Board, but I was reminded when I searched the site as I always do when writing up the new pages. I certainly hadn't intended to present no new material this week, but those of Phil S.'s discoveries that had their premiere on the board generally do have to go into Comics Gallery 2 as well. (A similar problem exists, or will exist, with the new Newspaper Gallery where a large number of his newspaper finds have already been seen on this board, but isn't of immediate concern).

All I can do is try to present something new each week. In some cases, some readers may have seen it somewhere else, although that isn't going to be a problem with Comics Gallery 2 except as described above. If I could get to the Doctor Cylon material more regularly, it would help a great deal (I'm still downloading and sorting it). And I think most of the Comics Gallery 1 strip-based material (i.e. independent art) will be new to most CSR readers. Work is proceeding apace on the "Novelty Paddles" article and we'll be seeing it in a few weeks, which will be something new.

Anyway, we'll return to the Luann series next week and I hope everyone likes seeing Lena Pry in spanking action this week even if we did see it last December.
